Gordon Cooper watches a truck reverse and starts sketching a device that would stop it on its own.

A real need
Harry Chad at Disposal Services needs a way to stop trucks from backing into things. It becomes the brief.

Built at home
Gordon, his brother Richard and their father Charles spend a year designing and testing it in the family garage.
- Global is founded
Global Sensor Systems Inc.
Disposal Services is one of the first customers. The system spreads through the waste industry.
