Rear detection zone
Three or four infrared sensors watch the space behind the truck every time it reverses. People, poles, cars and bins all register, day or night.
Your trucks back up hundreds of times a shift, in alleys, cul-de-sacs and driveways, often in the dark. Search Eye stops the truck when someone or something is behind it.
A rear loader reverses into tight spaces all day. The driver sits high above a long body with a wide blind spot behind it. Helpers step off the truck, residents walk out with bins, and kids play in the same streets.
Many routes include streets where the only way out is to reverse, with walls, poles and parked cars close on every side.
Helpers work behind the truck at every stop. They are the people most at risk when a driver reverses.
Routes start in the dark and run long. Fatigue slows reaction time, which is exactly what passive systems rely on.
Pedestrians, cyclists and children share the road. A single incident can become a public and political problem for the hauler.
Cameras help, but only if the driver looks at the screen at exactly the right moment, on hour ten of a shift that started before sunrise. One missed glance is enough. One backing incident can mean an injury, a lawsuit, a truck off the road and higher premiums for the whole fleet.
Search Eye works the moment the truck goes into reverse. No buttons to press, no screens to watch.

A green light confirms the system is on. When something is detected, a yellow light and a tone tell the driver right away.
The system applies the truck’s own air brakes. It does not wait for the driver to see, think and react. The truck simply stops.
Backing up to a dock or a container on purpose? Press Auto Brake OFF. A red light and pulsing tone stay on, and the sensors keep warning.
Dump, mixer, paving and tack trucks get the same protection for the crew working behind them. Any truck with air brakes.
Fits these trucks and any other commercial vehicle with air brakes.

Search Eye applies the air brakes automatically. The driver is alerted, but the stop does not depend on their reaction time.
A hard stop means the driver was backing too fast. Fleets use that moment to coach safer habits across the whole route team.

No. The system only acts when something is detected behind the truck while reversing. For close work like backing to a container, the driver can press Auto Brake OFF and the sensors keep warning.

The rear sensors watch the area directly behind the truck while it reverses. If a helper is in that zone, the system warns the driver and applies the brakes.
Search Eye is a driver assistance system. It does not replace safe driving practices, spotters or company backing procedures.
